 & WELCOME FROM LETCHWORTH

'Friends Of Howard Park & Garden'

In 1899, the social reformer Ebenezer Howard founded the Garden Cities Association, now known as Town and Country Planning Association, the oldest environmental charity in England. Howard advocated the construction of a new kind of town, combining the advantages of cities and the countryside while eliminating their disadvantages. Letchworth Garden City was his first project and Howard Park was the first official public park in the town and a core part of the original town centre plan. DID YOU HELP THIS STUDENT?

David Watts is a student at The Anglia Ruskin University, carrying out a dissertation on the effectiveness of green open space in the garden city concept. As part of his research, he needed to ask people who live in Letchworth Garden City an online questionnaire about what they think of green open space  in Letchworth.   He says,

"THANK YOU TO ALL THOSE WHO TOOK PART".
