New Life Church is a Christian Charity, whose aims are to advance the Christian faith, provide relief to those in need or distress and the advancement of education. The church has many members involved in caring professions, like health, education and social services. Those in the church live in Letchworth and the surrounding region. Since it began 20 years ago the church has tried to express it's love and social concern practically. At present it is involved with regular visiting of elderly residents at Letchworth Nursing Homes. This ministry has been established for about 10 years. members of the church also take part in weekly prison ministry and a local project feeding homeless people. The main object of Rap-Aid is to advance the education and development of young people under 25 as well as to provide opportunities and facilities in the interest of social welfare for recreation and leisure time occupation with the object of improving their conditions of life. Rap-Aid creates opportunities and provides facilities for young people and its regular activities consist of developing young people through various initiatives and projects. In addition it consults young people on the types of projects they would like to engage in. The type of projects that Rap-Aid have developed and successfully carried out include: Crime Prevention, Anti Substance misuse, Heritage, Music, Drama and Sport. Rap-Aid also organise an annual Festival in Letchworth Garden City and are currently developing the Letchworth Youth Council and Royston Youth Council.
